Today I spent a couple of hours working on my blog layout. Most of that was spent trying to learn how to do something I thought I knew how to do. I had already done this but couldn’t remember how to do it. After some time of reading helps and trying different things, I finally figured it out.
A couple of months ago that wouldn’t have been a problem for me because I was very familiar with customizing my blog. But I haven’t been dealing with the layout and look of my blog for several weeks, so that knowledge wasn’t readily available. I found myself having to research and study in order to make a small change to the look of my layout. Of course when I discovered how to resolve my situation, it was a very simple fix and something that I found myself thinking “oh, yeah, that’s how I did it”
This situation got me to thinking about how that I experience the same situation when I neglect to stay in the Word. When I am out of the Word and my prayer life is sporadic, I find that getting through my day to day activities can become more burdensome. But if I am mindful to spend time studying God’s inspired Word and remember to go to Him prayer, my days become more manageable.
The interesting thing is nothing in my daily life changed except how I approached it. Just like my blog’s template – nothing about it changed. But it became difficult for me to work with it because I neglected to spend time continuing to learn how WordPress and my theme works. My life becomes difficult when I neglect to spend time learning God’s Word to live my life. If I choose to live my life without continuing to increase in my knowledge and understanding of the inspired Word, my life becomes difficult to manage.
The bible reinforces the importance of studying God’s word and spending in prayer. Make time to grow in your faith and you will see the results in your attitude, mindset, and heart.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Until next time – lots of love to you and yours
