At Sunday night’s worship, the minister’s lesson was about 2 Peter chapter 3. In verse 8 of that chapter, Peter writes ‘But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.’
This brought to mind a lesson my brother preached a few years back about the gift of time. His thoughts impressed upon the gift that time is. While I can’t remember his lesson verbatim I do remember his point that time is one thing we can never get more of. There is always more money to get and more things to get but time is limited. We are only given so much time and we need to use it well. I pray that I may be more conscious of how I use my time and make the most of the time I have.
I’m thankful that God blesses me with time – time with my family, time to become more like Him, and time to serve others. I’m thankful that God’s timing is better than mine. I’m thankful for the time He’s entrusted in me to work to further His kingdom. I’m eternally grateful for the time He gave me to bring me to repentance.
So, today I give thanks for time. I pray that He continues to bless me with time and that I can be pleasing to Him with that time.
“For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2
“So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalms 90:12
Until next time
