Prayer Challenge 2020

Wow! It’s been a busy few weeks. I got my son moved out in a day, but helping him get settled into his new home and college life has taken a bit longer. Finally he’s been able to get internet (3 weeks without it while trying to do all online classes), get his schedule straightened out and get caught up in the classes he was admitted late to, and get his car in the shop waiting on repairs from being hit in the side by another driver. So I find myself finally taking a breath and able to sit a computer with the time to write a blog post.

Every time I’m pulled away from my blogging time, I seem to dread the getting back to it. But then as soon as I sit down and start typing, I know the answer to “why do I blog?” Blogging for me is an outlet and release. It helps me to gather and process my thoughts. It’s been instrumental in me setting and accomplishing goals. Most important benefit is how it has helped me stay in God’s word.

Using my blog as a place of accountability for my goals has helped me to stay motivated in completing goals. So I find myself today, inspired to share another goal setting post.

After a visit with my friend Amanda and a conversation about the power of prayer and the impact it has in our lives, we decided to commit this week to praying a very specific prayer and note how we see that prayer answered. This gave me an idea to challenge myself in my prayer life. So here goes, for the remainder of 2020, I will post my prayer prompt for the week and a verse of encouragement.

With committing to this weekly prayer challenge, I want to record the prayer prompt and how I notice it’s being answered, so that means finding a notebook/journal dedicated for this purpose. So if you want to join me, grab a cute notebook and your favorite pen and check back weekly to get to weekly prayer prompt. As we commit to mindfully praying for the rest of this year may God bless us with 2020 being a year of some great positives.

“Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:12
